Educational Foundation of Bailey and Levett CIO

The Educational Foundation of Bailey and Levett CIO (Founded 2024 - registered charity number: 1211520) is the successor charity to the Educational Foundation of Abigail Bailey and Ann Levett (Founded 1760 - registered charity number: 309769).

The new charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with Director Trustees who are all members of the Parish Council of Chelveston-cum-Caldecott. Whilst the Directors are members of the Council, the two organisations are legally separate entities. Nevertheless in their dual capacity the Directors will ensure that the needs of the Village are front of mind when taking decisions and making investments.

All of the assets trusts and endowments of the original Foundation were vested in the CIO in early January 2025.

The charitable purpose of the Foundation is to operate Chelveston Village Hall as a combined Village Hall/Educational Institute. The Foundation uses its charitable funds to promote and subsidise educational classes and meetings in the Village Hall with particular emphasis on providing activities for children.
